Kathy played Division III college basketball at Nazareth — Nazareth College back then, now Nazareth University — in Rochester, New York. She counts it among the best stretches of her life: hoops with her closest friends, the road trips, and her first-ever flight.
It’s become a recurring callback on the show. It can’t come up without the “as in Jesus of Nazareth” bit, and “Nazareth basketball university” resurfaces as a running punchline across episodes — usually while someone’s frantically googling the mascot.
